Zooming in to Not Crash Out
Hi,
I hope you’ve been doing well and taking care of yourself.
I’m trying my best to do the same, given the times that we’re currently living through. I’m careful in choosing my words — “living through” as opposed to “living in.” To say “living through” reminds me that we’re all on a journey during our lifetimes, and that no point of it will last forever. That gives me hope.
Since moving closer to family, I’ve been spending a lot of time with my grandparents. We don’t live together, but we live close enough for me to see them multiple days a week, and doing that gives me a small glimpse of the benefits of intergenerational living.
In recent weeks, my anxiety has been coming and going in waves. When I zoom out, news of raids, climate change disasters, and other events affect me on a profoundly deep level. I’m overflowing with mainly empathy, and yes, some fear. But when I zoom in, this is one of the best seasons of my life. I’m clear about the direction of my work and tapped into connectin…
