In my last letter, I wrote about my burnout and struggle to separate myself from my work. My best solution then was to use PTO days, spend time outside, and lean on my community. Well, I’m happy to report that I did indeed commit to those things and am feeling a bit replenished.
I’ve been in Santa Fe for almost a week now, visiting my mom. I journeyed out here with my sister, and it has been particularly fun because we’ve never traveled or vacationed together as adults. This time has been more beneficial than I realized it would be.
The landscape is like nothing I’ve ever seen before. It’s so beautiful that I’ve almost been brought to tears at several points during this trip. There are mostly brown, rolling hills nestled in front of the mountains. In the distance, there are deep-toned and even snow-capped mountains, but as you weave between them, you see bursts of red and tan washing over them. The trees here are muted greenish-brown (it is winter, after all). My eyes have had to adjust…
